Launch Out Into The Deep

Overflow: The Time Is Now

Fasting 2015

Ezekiel 47:9-10 (ESV) 9  And wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish. For this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes. 10  Fishermen will stand beside the sea. From Engedi to Eneglaim it will be a place for the spreading of nets. Its fish will be of very many kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea.

Video of me floating in the Dead Sea.

This passage is talking about the Dead Sea.  This is actually a prophecy that is going to happen in the future.

The Dead Sea (or Salt Sea) is over 1300 feet below Sea Level.  At it's lowest point - it is 2600 feet below Sea Level. It's contents are 35% salt and no fish live in it.  It is fed by the Jordan River and there is no outlet for the fresh water causing it to salinize.

Ezekiel predicts that the Dead Sea will be healed of its death.

Ezekiel prophecies that someday there will be so many fish in the dead sea that they will have to call in fishermen to fish in this sea.

You’ve heard the phrase – “It’s raining cats and dogs.”

Some time ago there was a story that came out about the outback’s of Northern AustraliaAn amazing thing took place – a phenomenon.

In this village – it is about 500 miles from any body water.

What happened was this.  A cloud came (which wasn’t unusual) to bring rain (which also isn’t unusual in the rainy season).

This cloud did not just rain down rain – it rained down fish. (Start video)

Some were frozen.  Some were just flopping on the ground as the landed.

What the meteorologist determined was this… some tornado gathered over some body of water 500 miles away.  It sucked the fish up into the air.  They went so high into the atmosphere that many of the fish froze in the clouds.

The wind blew the clouds over this little village (I’m not making this up).  As it got over the village – it somehow started raining fish over this little village.

There were so many “perch fish” that they collected them for 7 days.  There were fish everywhere in the middle of the desert.

As you are finishing this fast and God is getting ready to send a harvest – it doesn’t matter where you are located.

If God says that it is your season and your time – HE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE IT RAIN FISH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT!

They might not have been catching fish on the coast but they were catching fish out in the middle of the desert.

In the Bible – fish and fishermen are often always an allegory of the Christian and the lost world. The lost world is a type of the fish.

God often uses an analogy of fishing in the Bible.

Matthew 4:19 (ESV) 19  And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

You and I will catch souls.  We will catch men and women, boys and girls in the gospel net and bring them into safety and into life.

We are the fishermen and the lost world is the fish.

God tells us that He will make us fishermen if we follow Him.

It’s interesting when it comes to fishing that the line that is used for fishing all have a weight limit.  They call that the “test line.”

8 lb. test line.  16 lb. test line . Etc.

The reason they do this is so you will know what size of fish that you are able to handle.  The higher the number on the test line – the greater the size of the fish that you can catch.

The greater the test line – the greater the fish.

  • The greater the test in your life – the greater the testimony.

  • The greater the mess – the greater the message.

  • The greater the resistance – the greater the revival.

The greater the test that God puts you through is a sign of what type of fish and what type of harvest that God is going to bring your way.

God is not going to give you more than you can bear.  If you’ve been tested and tried – the greater God is going to use you.

Some of you have some powerful “test lines” that you’ve been through.  As a result – you need to believe God for some great fish.

Turn to someone and say, “The greater the test line – the greater the fish you can handle.”

Look at this fishing story in Luke 5...

(Luke 5:1-7 ESV) On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

Luke 5:4 (ESV) 4  And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

Simon, a professional fisherman basically said to Jesus, “I’m a professional fisherman – you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Luke 5:5 (ESV) 5  And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”

As soon as his nets hit the water (because God is God above the water and God beneath the water)  - the Bible says that the fish swam into the nets.

The nets began to break and they had to call for other ships in the region to come help them gather all the fish because their boats began to sink because they took so many fish.

Just a thought – I think they could have caught every fish in that lake had they had enough nets.

The problem was – all the nets began to break and all the boats began to sink because they had so much fish.

If they had more boats and more nets – they could have had a greater harvest.

We need to stop limiting God.  God can still reach this nation.  God can still turn this world around.  All we need is more nets and more ships.

OVERFLOW: THE TIME IS NOW!  God is not limited today!  Amen!

Quit limiting God.

I don’t care if you are in a desert – God knows how to bring the fish to your net.

Your lost relatives CAN be saved.  Some of you are in a financial desert… How many of you would like it to rain blessing right into your desert.

On another occasion – (in Matthew 17:27) – the disciples had a need.  Specifically, Jesus and Peter had a tax bill due.

Matthew 17:27 (ESV) 27  … go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”

Jesus gave a strange instruction… “Take a hook, place it in the water – you will then catch a fish.  The first fish that you catch – open his mouth and there will be a gold coin.  Take the money and go pay our taxes.”

How many would like to get that type of blessing in your life?

He just catches a fish and it has the resources that he needs in its mouth.

I want to remind you – that even if you’re in a desert financially that GOD IS OUR SOURCE!

I want to remind you – that even when you think you are so far from what you need – God can alter things.  God can change things.  God can cause the wind to blow in your direction.

God can take business from the other side of the world and bring it where you are in the High Desert.

Fish coming out of the sky!  Gold in the mouth of fish!

I believe in a God who can bring blessing upon blessing into your life.  GOD IS NOT LIMITED BECAUSE YOU ARE IN A DESERT!

We sometimes forget how mighty our God is.  He is the GREAT I AM.  He can still do the impossible.

God knows how much you need to do His will.

Philippians 4:19 (ESV) 19  And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Even if you are in a desert – GOD KNOWS HOW TO ALTER THINGS.  He can cause the impossible to bring blessings your way.

How many of you believe in that type of God?

On Wednesday night, January 28th – I’m going to lay out a vision for you.  It’s going to take faith in a MIGHTY GOD.

When you get involved in what God is telling you to do – to reach the harvest.  When you help people  - when you throw the net  out – the money will come in.

God will see to it that the fishermen will have the resources.

But... we need to be obedient by casting our nets into the sea.

When you reach for the harvest – there will always be resources for that vision.  THAT’S JUST HOW IT WORKS.

God knows how much you need to do His will.  He knows what you need.

There’s no doubt in my mind that if we do what God has called us to do – ALL THE RESOURCES WILL BE THERE.

If we get involved in God’s Harvest – ALL THE RESOURCES WILL BE THERE.

Sometimes… we just need to throw the net to the other side.

If we go fishing – God will see to it that we have the resources.

If your personal life or your business is involved in the harvest  - when you are giving and witnessing and shinning your light  - God says that He will resource your harvest.

Matthew 25:40 (ESV) 40  … ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

As you know, our church is giving to an organization called FEED ONE.  As to date – we’ve given over $12,000.00 this last year to feed children in Haiti.

Next week, I’ve asked one of the leaders of  the Feed One organization to come and show us where our monies are going.

When we give to a vision – God will make the resources to be there.

There is another story about fish in the Bible.

We need to believe for miracles to take place again in the Bible Of Christ!  We have become so tame and so logical that we have missed the miracles of  God.

If God can rain fish in the desert – how many know that He can “supply all our needs in Christ.”

In the Bible, there is this story of 5,000 people who were hungry.  All they had were 5 loaves and 2 fish.  5 + 2 = 7.

That means that 7 people had something to eat and 4,993 go hungry – according to our mathematics.  BUT GOD…

But God’s mathematics are a little different.

We say… 5+2 = 7.  But God says “5+2 - when I touch it  - with a remainder of 12 basketfuls of left overs.”

God was saying, “I’m not just the God of enough but the God of more than enough and you are going to take home skip loads of blessings after you have fed everyone else.”

We serve a God today who can still heal CANCER.  We serve a God that can still move mountains.  We serve a God who can turn your business around – even in a terrible economy.

In a economy that is less than perfect – GOD STILL IS PERFECT AND GOD IS ABLE.

Give God a praise if you still believe that God can do miracles.

This is the God who fed the prophet Elijah by causing a bird (in the middle of a drought) to drop food into his plate.

This is the same God who took millions of people into the desert for 40 years.  He put clothes on their back and shoes on their feet during this time out in the middle of the desert.

The Bible says that the clothes didn’t wear out and their shoes grew as their feet grew and they didn’t wear out either.

This is the God who caused the oil to flow and flow as long as the widow had empty vessels.

God can cause the oil to keep flowing in your life.

I’m talking about a God who touched an old man when he was a 100 and his wife when she 90.  They conceived and had a child.  That child produced a nation called Israel.

It’s the same God who touched a virgin.  Even though she had never known a man – she became pregnant with the son of God.

This is the same God who took 5 loaves and 2 fish and provided for 5,000 people.

If God can rain fish in the desert – than God can bless your life.  YOU SERVE A SUPERNATURAL GOD.

God tells us that He is about to send a harvest in places where people never thought would come.  God wants to bless us in unusual ways with unusual things.

If He wants to rain fish in the desert – than He can bring blessings into your life at any time and at any place.

1 Kings 18 talks about the prophet Elijah who talks about seeing a rain cloud in the desert.  Remember, Israel was in a time of great drought for 3 ½ years.

Elijah says, “I see a cloud the size of a man’s hand.”

Had that been us – we would have said, “That’s not big enough for anything to come of it.”

But the prophet saw something in spirit.  He said, “Run for your lives because the rain is coming, flash floods are coming.”

The Bible says that he outran the horses of Ahab.

All he saw was a cloud.  It was little but it was loaded.

A little is MUCH if God is in it.

Faith sees the unseen.  Faith hears the unheard.

1 Kings 18:41 (ESV) 41  And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of the rushing of rain.”

It was a little cloud but it had great rain.  It had abundance with it.

You might only be seeing little things but there could be abundance hidden in that little thing.

I believe because we have fasted as a church – IT’S ABOUT TO RAIN ABUNDANCE INTO OUR DESERT.

Leviticus 26:3-13 (ESV) 3  “If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, 4  then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5  Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely. 6  I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land. 7  You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8  Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9  I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you. 10  You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. 11  I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. 12  And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13  I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

Psalm 5:12 (ESV) 12  For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield.

Jude 1:2 (ESV) 2  May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
